Official Preliminary to Miss Texas and Miss America Scholarship Competitions

2019 Austin's Outstanding Teen, Lauren Faria

Lauren is a 15 year old sophomore at FMHS in Flower Mound, Texas.  As a STEM-focused, band-loving introvert, many of Lauren’s friends are surprised to learn of her love for the Miss Texas Scholarship Competition.  Lauren wants girls to know that just because that they’re quiet or studious doesn’t mean they can’t be confident or enjoy being a part of the community in a meaningful way.  Girls can be powerful and inspiring too!

Among Lauren’s various accomplishments, she’s very proud to have marched in the nationally televised 2019 Tournament of Roses Parade in Pasadena, CA as a member of the nationally ranked Flower Mound High School band.  She is a Girl Scout Senior Ambassador and has obtained Girl Scout’s Silver Award – 2nd highest honor in Girl Scouts and is currently working on her Gold Award.  Additionally, Lauren has held leadership positions in her high school’s Air Force JROTC as Flight Sergeant and PT Commander/Logistics.  She’s in the process of applying for 1 of 2,000 available positions with the U.S. Air Force Flight Academy Program.  Lauren is on the STEM track at her high school, National Junior Honor Society, and was the Overall Grand Champion solo dancer at Encore Dance Competition.

Lauren has her driver’s permit and is saving up money from her professional acting performances with You Connection to buy her first car!
