Official Preliminary to Miss Texas and Miss America Scholarship Competitions

2018 Miss Boerne, Yesenia Guerrero

As you already know, I’m very involved with the Miss America Organization but you probably didn’t know that one of the exciting opportunities this organization offers is the chance to raise funds for local children’s hospitals through Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals. The money I raise will help save children’s lives, and a portion will also go to support the Miss America Scholarship Fund.

Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals makes sure that donated funds stay local which means that your donation helps kids and families right here in our community. I invite you to join me in touching the lives of sick and injured children today, by clicking the "Donate Now" button to make a secure donation. You can also see the impact of your donation by clicking here to view some of the incredible miracle stories from kids we've helped. These are just a few stories out of millions of kids treated at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals each year.

Thank you so much for your support and for helping me make miracles happen!

Yesenia Guerrero

Yesenia is a 24 year old University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley senior studying Kinesiology.  She was awarded the Key to the City of La Joya; completed over 600+ of community service for various organizations and events; performed the National Anthem for the first flag raising over the new University of Texas - Rio Grande Valley and started her own business at the age of 22.

She grew up watching the Miss America Pageant on TV.  To her, the women walking across the stage were the equivalent of Wonder Woman; intelligent, successful, confident and empowering.  They were just about every positive word in the dictionary.  They served as a source of inspiration for her and showed her from a young age just how much of a difference a woman with a passion can make.  She knew then that was the type of person she would aspire to be.  She wants to make a difference with the Children's Miracle Network and her platform, Pump It Up: Combating Heart Disease Through Exercise and Nutrition.  She is confident that the Miss Texas Organization would enable her to further her outreach.  In doing so, she wants to inspire others the way she was inspired and lead by example the importance of community service.
