Official Preliminary to Miss Texas and Miss America Scholarship Competitions

2017 Miss Alamo City, Rebecca Mendoza

Rebecca Mendoza is a 22-year-old Graduate student at Southern New Hampshire University studying in the Accelerated Accounting Program.  Rebecca is striving to obtain her CPA by her 24th birthday.  She graduated with Honors as Magna Cum Laude while achieving her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.  While Rebecca is a dedicated student actively on President’s list and Sigma Alpha Pi, she also leads her own Non-Profit Organization, the CC Warriors, which she began at 17 years old.  The CC Warriors encourage students of Special and General Education to break down the barriers through dance.  This is an all-inclusive dance group currently in four schools around the San Antonio Area with multiple schools on the waiting list for the 2017-2018 school year.  These students range from 5th grade to adults and learn responsibility, respect, and leadership skills that allow them to become assets to their communities.

Not only is Rebecca Founder and President of her own NPO, she is also a fitness instructor at L.A. Fitness where she teaches Zumba, Aqua Aerobics, and Bodyworks.  Rebecca lives an active and healthy lifestyle and encourages the public to do the same.  Rebecca also actively volunteers with Meals on Wheels which is a free service that delivers meals to Seniors around the San Antonio Area.  Rebecca also teaches dance to Senior Citizens in the Senior Ministry at St. Luke Catholic Church.  She believes in encouraging all ages and abilities to be active and have fun while doing it.  Dance is one way that she encourages activity.  Rebecca has been performing since she was 2 years old.  Dancing, acting, singing, tumbling, cheerleading, choreographing, and making music are just some of Rebecca’s various talents.

Rebecca is excited to serve her San Antonio community as Miss Alamo City 2017 and will make this year full of giving back to the ones that gave her a solid foundation for who she has become today.
